We all want a lot in life. I have dreams and goals.
But then, the question is, why haven’t I achieved them?
Why, for all the things that we do, books that we read, and programs we take, haven’t we found the magic bullet for success?
Because there is no magic bullet, save for one.
What’s the one rule to get anything done?
Reasons versus Results
In my own experience, and in the experience of a lot of people who I have had the privilege to coach, There are many different reasons why we aren’t able to do something.
Some of the reasons I’ve had in my life:
I don’t have enough money.
I’m not an extrovert, or a natural salesman.
I don’t have the knowledge or skills to make it happen.
I don’t have a network.
I’m not that kind of person.
Deep down inside, I’m afraid to fail, and of what other people might say.
So many different reasons. So many lost opportunities, looking back.
A lot of what I’ve realized and shared fall along how to help people get things done, and get things done consistently, so that they get to keep the benefits of the results they are after.
Meaning there really is only one rule, which births all the other rules, on how to get anything done.
yep, that’s about it. As unsexy, and effective, as it gets.
Because I gave all those reasons why I don’t have a result that I wanted, but still, it won’t get me anywhere closer to the result.
Find a way to get the results that you want. Find a way to overcome the reasons that you automatically blurt out, whether you know it or not.
Don’t give yourself reasons why you can’t get the change that you want. No excuses, gets you the results.
If you look at our lives, and our daily activities, we still waste a lot of time on the things and tasks that are unimportant to us, and our goals.
And there are times where it’s those activities that we use as excuses.
No excuses to say no to what is not important, is also a crucial factor.
Because at the end of the day, whatever excuses you give out, won’t make people give you the results that you want, nor will it magically appear.
“I was too busy at my day job to start a business on the side. So cut me some slack, please?!” Will never get you any sympathy, any affection, and of course, any results.
More so with “I was too lazy to exercise.” True line right there, said by yours truly.
I know it’s tough.
I know it’s brutal.
But it’s the truth, and the faster and earlier you come to terms with this truth, the quicker you’ll get the results that you want.
It starts with your mindset. If you believe that there can be no excuses for your success, then there surely will be none.
Get things done.
Because life is filled with opportunities, and with only limited time.
Death will accept no excuses, history will remember none of that.
And real love will not tolerate excuses.
It will all want to make you into a better person.
So where are the excuses coming from? That’s right.
No excuses. Get things done.
