Happy Anniversary FredricLipio.com!
It’s the first year of the blog, and I thought it would be an effective practice to take a look back on what has happened to the blog, and to me, in the year that has passed, and to use that to become better and write a better blog. That’s what this annual review is for.
All in the hopes of offering more valuable help to people.
I’ll be answering three basic questions for my annual review:
- What went well for the past year?
- What didn’t go well for the past year?
- What am I working toward for next year?
So without further ado…
1. What Went Well For The Past Year?
Writing. I’m new to writing to be read, heard, and shared. I’ve been writing on and off in my journal for several years now, but not with any discipline and consistency. I started off publishing an article a week, then a few months back, started publishing twice a week. I’ve published 67 articles last year. I haven’t missed a publishing schedule, and I don’t intend to.
I also wrote a 29-page Ebook that I’m giving away on my homepage. I’m about to release the 2nd version of that Ebook soon.
Mindset. The past year has also been a year of change. To get better results, I had to change certain beliefs and mindsets I had about certain important areas of my life, and they have helped me tremendously.
I focused on beliefs that limited my range of options and capabilities, and focused on building freedom in my mind, to allow me to build freedom in my life. To achieve freedom, and success, I had to change and grow.
Transitioning To A New Career. As a result of changes I made in my life, I was able to make steps to transitioning into Facilitating and Coaching. These were actually skills which I had for quite some time, but had not found it possible to polish and invest in, and of course, help people with.
I’ve been invited to facilitate several workshops, some of which were of my own design. I’m also on-call to facilitate several well-known programs. Most famous of all, is The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People Program. And there are more on the way.
As for coaching, I’ve taken two courses this year, Transformative Coaching by Coachmasters Academy, an ICF-accredited organization, and the Accelerated Strengths Coaching Course by Gallup Inc., which is coaching using the Gallup Strengthsfinder.
I’ve been able to do some coaching sessions, and I’m floored and very grateful for the tremendous positive power that coaching can have on someone’s life.
All throughout, I’ve also been blessed to meet great and inspiring people. You know who you are. Thank you.
Exercise. I started exercising again for the past year, and along with that watching what I eat. It has reaped benefits far beyond my expectations. I feel I’m stronger, have more energy, and feel better about myself. Mostly, I’ve been doing body weight exercises at home – push-ups, squats, and stretching.
2. What Didn’t Go Well For The Past Year?
Over-All Health. There were 2 times where I put my lower back out of alignment, which severely impaired my mobility, and stopped my exercising. Due to travel commitments I had for work early this year, I also wasn’t able to make time to do my exercise. That, and I feel I can be more professional about improving my over-all health and strength.
Self-Promotion. I haven’t been active, and confident, in promoting my website, and even my services. It’s definitely something that didn’t go well, as I feel I could have had more clients, and helped more people, had I been more aggressive, more focused on promotion.
Products. I haven’t made a single one, whether physical, or digital. And I never got around to actually just making something, shipping it, and asking for money in return.
Website Design. Another struggle. I thought I would be able to make time to learn how to make a decent website design. That I could D-I-Y it all by myself. Turns out that wasn’t as feasible, and looking towards what I want to be doing, is not an effective use of my time.
3. What Am I Working Toward For Next Year?
More People Helped, More Relationships. I want to be able to help more and more people, and this would mean not only becoming a better person, but actively reaching out to people, and building relationships. Constantly looking for ways to add value and help people, and looking for the people that want value, and want to be helped as well. This means getting out more, connecting with people, and reaching out to people I want to get to know.
It’s about providing something that will be valuable to people and help them build better lives, with more freedom.
Products. And one concrete way to push me to create my best work that will help people, is to put it in the form of a product. To invest the time, effort, energy, and responsibility to market it, test it, make it, refine it, and then ship it.
Better Over-All Health. I want to be stronger next year, and this will require more discipline, focus, and system on my part. Also, it seems that I will have to seek professional help if I want to get healthier, and stronger, as I admit I don’t have a single clue about all this physical health stuff.
Building An Audience. So far, I have a small audience of 26 email subscribers! And I am super grateful to them for inspiring me to come up with my best work, and for providing critical and constructive ways I can serve them better.
But honestly, I want to affect more people, and building an engaged audience for the next year will be a top priority.
It’s hard to write just for myself, but if I’m writing for a community, with a community, then it will just make my writing all the more better. And by better, that means that you guys find it helpful and valuable – and that’s the bottom line.
Here’s To Next Year!
Thank you very much for the year that was, and I will never forget the lessons, relationships, and opportunities given to me. I can only work hard to honor all of them.
Thank you for being with me on my journey last year, and I’m looking forward to journeying with you this coming year, together.
