What we see in the outside, is merely a reflection of what we see from the inside.
Are you happy with your life?
Because, our lives are merely a reflection of our beliefs.
Like looking at a mirror
I was always so hard on myself. Whenever I’d fail, or come up short of expectations, I’d beat myself up, and I was always filled with self-doubt and uncertainty.
I’d lash out, deprive myself, and would suffer a great loss in self-confidence and self-belief.
And then, people who fall short of my expectations, are the worst.
I find myself lashing out at them, and cursing and damning them to kingdom come.
I was frustrated at them, and in the same sense, that I was frustrated at myself for falling short of expectations.
The way I treat myself, is how I treat other people.
What I expect from myself, is somewhat, also what I expect from other people.
Looking at life is like looking at a mirror. You see a lot of yourself in the situations and the things that you see.
Especially, in the people that you meet and interact.
You want them to act in the same way that you’re imagining them in your head.
News flash: People don’t act the way you want them, all the time.
What you expect from people, and what they expect from you, is to fulfill their expectations.
The expectations based on how you view yourself, and in turn, how you view other people.
When you’re looking at another person, a lot of the biases and judgements we have, come from what we see when we’re looking at a mirror.
When we’re looking at ourselves.
Looking through lenses
Our beliefs are also our lenses, coloring, shaping the way we perceive, and experience, the world around us.
I used to believe that money was hard to earn, and that abundance was nowhere to be found.
As long as I held that belief, everywhere I looked, I found it hard to get, create, and look for opportunities to earn money.
But the moment I had begun to change that belief – to one of abundance, and that earning more and more money was possible, I began to see trickles, and more opportunities to earn.
I’m still in the middle of my journey, and I’m excited of the possibilities to come as my belief evolves and grows.
The actual reality of things is that things are what they are. The meaning of the events in our life are given by us.
It’s not bad that it’s raining, it just is.
Do the beliefs that we have, which forms our lenses, help us move forward in our life?
Or do they serve to hinder us, and stop us from getting to where we want to be?
It’s all reflections
Our life is all a reflection of our beliefs, and standards that we have for ourselves and for our life.
It’s a good, hard, reality check that we all have to go through.
When we look in front of the mirror, do we acknowledge and face the reality of what we’re seeing?
Or instead, do we make up stories, and just focus on the parts that we want to see?
Face the whole reality, that things are what they are.
Move forward.
