What hinders you, will ultimately help you.
Because there are things we want, place to go, goals to achieve, or a lifestyle that we crave for.
But we’re not there. We don’t have it.
And we just don’t get it.
We don’t get that what we see that’s actually in our way, is the way forward.
It’s the world’s way of telling us what lessons we need to learn to get there.
How then, to move forward in life, even when you don’t know how?
What’s in your way?
Or, put another way, what excuse are you waving around NOT to get started, or keep moving?
I’ve always wanted to start another business, after my previous experiences of having opened, run, and closed businesses.
But there was always something in the way.
I figured that I needed money.
I figured that I needed pre-orders.
I figured that I needed to learn how to do copywriting.
All that figuring out, never got me closer to my actual goal.
What was in my way?
It wasn’t the resources, or the skills, or the conditions.
It was the fear inside of me masquerading as all of those excuses.
Because the only way forward, was to put something up, and then just do. Do and learn on the fly what works, and how to make all of those skills, resources, conditions, and also, attitudes, come together.
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try?
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to do, but have always been postponing?
And we do it for a variety of reasons. I know I did.
I told myself that I wasn’t ready, that I was still tired, that I didn’t know what to do, and that I didn’t have enough money, time, pre-orders. Whatever I could think of as an excuse, I put that up in my way.
Never realizing that to break down those barriers, is not to go around them. But to go through them, and to take them, and the lessons learned, with you forward.
Mindset
At its heart, the way forward is all about mindset.
What do you tell yourself about what you’re feeling and experiencing?
Because our beliefs and perceptions are powerful things. How we interpret the things that we see and experience, is what comes true in our lives.
What is our mindset about what stands in our way?
Do we see them as obstacles, as things that must be set aside, or that conditions must be right and ripe?
Or do we see them as opportunities to learn, to get better, and to instruct us in what we still need to move forward?
What are you doing for your dreams? Are you merely waiting, doing nothing, biding your time, or are you actively, and actually, in the truest sense of the word, doing?
What do you believe about what stands in your way?
Is it helping? Change them. One step at a time.
The way forward
The way forward, is that which we find fearful, anxious, yet inside of us, there is a sense of importance, urgency, and “this is it!”.
It’s not about the difficulty. It’s about the importance and how mission critical that task, the obstacle, is.
Listen to your obstacles, to what you find difficult, and what stands in your way.
They are your teachers, showing you the way forward.
Choose, and overcome.
