Have you ever thought about what’s important to you?
How about what you really want in life? Have you thought about that?
Hopefully you have. But what if you don’t have a definite answer, or if you have several answers?
That’s fine. for now. it’s a process of constant refinement. Self-development is an on-going journey, if you are willing to commit to it.
Part of the process is being self-aware. More than usual.
What do you want out of this life?
We are only given a finite number of seconds, moments, in this lifetime. How do you use them? How will you make use of them?
Have you ever thought about what’s important to you? What do you want out of this life?
Because the answers we provide, will give direction to our lives, and shape our decisions and actions.
But all of this is for naught without the required focus.
It is focus that will accelerate our efforts towards our goals. Each moment meaningfully spent towards our goals is another step forward closer to them.
Lack of focus and discipline is very destructive, and not to mention very wasteful. There were days where I caught myself just surfing the net, reading through facebook, watching youtube videos, and just plain sitting on a chair and staring at a screen doing nothing.
What a waste of time.
And to think I remember turning on the computer just to send one email. I could’ve done that in less than 10 minutes, and have gotten on with my life.
Except, in hindsight, I didn’t know what I really wanted in life then. What I thought was important for me in my life then, maybe wasn’t important enough for me to take action, to just get the hell out of there and go for it.
Having no purpose kills a man and his soul. What does he have to live for? The world is hard. Living is hard. Let’s not kid ourselves.
Having that purpose aligns a man and his actions. Having that focus gets him there.
Purpose and Focus.
[…] This doesn’t mean that people want to have focus. A lot feel like they don’t need it, or that they are better at multitasking (fact: nope). […]
