Can you think of a time when you felt you had all the confidence in the world?
How about a time when you through that nothing would go wrong? That you’ve got someone who has your back no matter what?
How about a time when you just were so sure you were right, and that things would work out. That somehow, things would fall into place?
That’s faith. Faith in yourself. Faith that gives hope.
Confidence, from the latin word confidere, meaning “to have full trust and reliance.” The word is also from the joining of the two words com, “with”, and fidere, meaning “to trust, to have faith.”
At times, it can be no easy feat to have complete and utter faith and confidence in one’s self, or in others for that matter. It can be difficult.
And it can happen, if we want to. If we give ourselves permission, and give ourselves a chance.
I wrote myself a reminder on ways how one can have more faith. More faith in the world, in others, and in one’s self. That’s the list I’m sharing with you today.
Believe in other people, and in the kindness the world has. It’s scary to think that somewhere out there, there are people out to get you. If we let down our guard, that people will try to take advantage of us.
That’s not a lot of people actually.
People, I find, give the right directions when you ask them, and help if you ask nicely enough. There was this lady me and my group asked for directions on how to get a bus terminal, and she even walked with us to the place!
People are generally helpful, and they will help you, if you let them. I heard on a podcast somewhere that “there are more lifeguards than sharks” in this world of ours. And I’d like to believe that.
Believe in yourself, have faith in yourself and your abilities. We are the main actors in our lives, and our fate and future is ultimately up to us. What kind of future would we have if we second-guessed ourselves at every opportunity?
I may not be perfect, and I know I’ve still got a lot to learn, but that won’t mean I won’t give it my all and my best.
Believe in what you can do, and you will achieve. At the very least, fake it ’til you make it.
Have faith in God. Pray. Pray that the world will somehow make a way to take care of you, and you have to be humble enough to accept that and to receive, even if you have nothing to give in return.
Be humble enough to accept that there are things beyond our control and comprehension, and that there are things greater than us, beyond our understanding.
You don’t have to shoulder all of the burdens and problems. You can’t.
Have faith in a higher power, have faith that things will work out.
Have faith that when you go out there and do your best, and listen to others, and act to help others, all those will help you and give you success.
Success is not based on taking, it’s based on giving. To give value, solutions, a better life, dreams to other people, will lead you to success. Long-term, genuine, unbreakable success is grown from giving.
Share and give what you have, your talents, your strengths, and your creations.
What would have happened to our world, if all the greatest inventors, scientist, artists, leaders, were so shy that all their works were never shared, and was just kept in their bedrooms, never seeing the light of day?
We are here on this world to create, and not just to consume. We are not mindless drones, nor unfeeling machines. We have emotions, thoughts, capabilities, and talents.
I always wanted to be creative, or at the very least, to consider myself a creative person. I just lately figured out to be a creative person, you have to create. It’s where the word came from.
Also, It’s not your job to judge what you do, but it’s your job to create. Create and share. Leave the judging to other people, especially not to yourself.
Try acts of faith in small things. Get yourself out there, and trust. get yourself out there, risk, and have faith.
Start small, and build yourself up from there. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and rarely is faith and trust.
Do your best, prepare, and have faith
Create a faith forming, belief building, power creating meditative and breathing ritual.
Breath is life, and breath is power. Breathing is one element which makes martial arts, meditation, and yoga so effective.
Start off your day with meditation, taking deliberate breaths, and mindfully being grateful for the blessings that you have, and that you believe yourself, and have the power to change your life.
Meditate daily, believing in a higher power, believing in yourself, believing in taking risks, and believing the world will take care of you somehow.
Be thankful. We have been given a lot of blessings and graces in our lives, no matter how hard it can be. Dig deep, and learn to be thankful for them despite the hardships.
Be a bigger person with a bigger heart, and cultivate an “attitude of gratitude.”
Take care of yourself. A car never made it far without any fuel, nor maintenance. It is also important to keep priorities, and ensure you are doing tasks and activities for your well-being and health.
Make sure to get exercise, and eat healthy foods. Eat less of processed foods, and work physical and mental activities into your daily life. Make sure to give yourself time to rest as well.
Keep on learning and doing. learn new skills, don’t be afraid to fail and make mistakes.
Have faith things will turn out great, have faith that you’ll be able to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again full force.
Have faith in your ability to grow, develop, learn, forgive, and succeed.
Have faith.
